What we do: |
Our programmes We offer intensive (full-time) courses in English, Malay and Chinese to international students, though we also have many international students who take part in our progressive (evening) programmes. All our programmes are taught by experienced, qualified and dedicated teachers. Furthermore, the small classes and modern, well-equipped facilities afford an environment conducive for effective learning. The personal and professional service students receive results in happy students at Dynamic Language Centre. Please note: we are only able to apply for student passes for full-time (intensive) students. Intensive English (daytime classes) Our intensive English programme has proved popular, particularly amongst international students from nearby countries. We have taught students from China, Korea and Thailand and have recently opened representative offices in India, Vietnam and Pakistan. The intensive programme consists of six levels (from beginner to advanced). Levels 1 and 2 are of eight weeks’ duration each, which is 168 hours of classroom contact time. Levels 3 to 6 are of twelve weeks’ duration each, which is 252 hours of classroom contact time. There are 21 hours of contact time each week, but students are also required to complete homework daily, and are encouraged to practice speaking English as much as possible outside the classroom. It is possible for students to complete part of a level (i.e. one month of intensive study). We have experience of tailoring our programmes to the particular needs of a group of students, particularly in the Thai school holidays as we often have a group of students come down for those months! Obviously, the longer students have available for study the more progress they will make and the more fluent they will become. If, as a potential student, you wish to see exactly what you would learn on our intensive programme, the module descriptors are available from our administrative office on request. The ideal class size for the intensive English programme is between six and 12 students, though we are able to run with fewer students. Intensive Malay (daytime classes) Our intensive programme has proved popular amongst international students and the expatriate community over the four years we have been in operation. We have taught students from the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, India, Canada, Korea, Nepal and the Philippines to reach a level of language that has enabled them to participate fully in Malaysian life. The intensive programme consists of six levels (from beginner to advanced). Each level has two modules, each of seven weeks’ duration, with a one week break between modules. There are 15 hours of contact time each week, but students are also required to complete homework daily. Most students have found they are functioning sufficiently well in the language after one year of full time study (3 levels/6 modules), and have not found it necessary to continue to the higher levels of study. Obviously, the longer students have available for study the more progress they will make and the more fluent they will become. If, as a potential student, you wish to see exactly what you would learn on our intensive programme, the module descriptors are available from our administrative office on request. The ideal class size for the intensive Malay programme is between six and 12 students, though we are able to run with fewer students. Intensive Chinese (daytime classes) Our intensive programme has proved popular amongst international students in particular. We have taught students, mainly from the USA, to reach a level of language that has enabled them to communicate wholly in Chinese. The intensive programme consists of six levels (from beginner to advanced). Each level has three modules, each of seven weeks’ duration, with a one week break between modules. There are 15 hours of contact time each week, but students are also required to complete homework daily. We would recommend that beginner students complete one and a half years’ worth of full-time study (3 levels) in order to function sufficiently well in the language. Obviously, the longer students have available for study the more progress they will make and the more fluent they will become. If, as a potential student, you wish to see exactly what you would learn on our intensive programme, the module descriptors are available from our administrative office on request. The ideal class size for the intensive Chinese programme is between six and 12 students, though we are able to run with fewer students.
