Customised classes

Dynamic Language Centre is continuing to build on its success at providing customised training courses for it’s growing base of corporate clients.  We delight in developing and delivering courses in accordance with the specific language learning goals of our clients and receive great satisfaction from helping our students to fulfill their potential in the workplace.

Customers who have repeatedly chosen DLC to meet their language-learning needs include B.Braun Medical Industries Sdn Bhd, Robert Bosch (M) Sdn Bhd, Agilent Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, LKT Industrial Bhd.  A full list of our clientele can be obtained from the administrative office for those of you who want to check who your competitors use!

We have undertaken delivery of courses for objectives as diverse as improving the spoken Thai teleskills for a call centre, written Business English for Hotel Managers and Mandarin for children at a local nursery.  As our expertise in tailor-making courses grows, it is likely that we have already delivered training similar to what you require.

We have delivered one-on-one language training to senior managers where this has been appropriate, but also courses for up to 25 participants.  The ideal class size is between 12 and 18 students however, and although we are able to teach up to 25 students we do not recommend more than 20 students per class in order for the learning experience to be the best it can for each student.

Please call us for further information or to arrange an appointment for one of our representatives to come and meet you to discuss the language-learning objectives of your company, and how these can best be achieved.

We have also found our corporate clients have sometimes sent their staff along to our in-house programmes, particularly:

Progressive classes
Business English (Speaking focus) course
Business English (Writing focus) course
The Art of Public Speaking (English) course
Japanese - Basic communication with a business emphasis course

Progressive classes

Many companies have sent selected employees along to our progressive evening classes, where their aim has not been to develop specific, job-related language skills but rather to improve in the language generally.

Please visit the ‘Evening Classes’ pages of our site for more information.  Module descriptors are available from our administrative office on request: simply state which language(s) you are interested in when you call.

Business English (Speaking focus)

We offer 24 or 48 hour courses in Business English (Speaking focus) at our premises on a Tuesday or Thursday Evening.  The course is modular to allow each group of students to select the topics they would most benefit from.  Some or all of the following topics may be included: cultural diversity and socialising; telephoning; presentations; meetings; and negotiations.  We have found in the past that some companies choose to send their staff along to this course to develop their general Business English communication skills, rather than having a course customised to the exact requirement of their daily operations.

While the focus is on listening and speaking, relevant integrated reading and writing tasks are also included. The emphasis is on helping students improve their communicative ability, fluency and confidence through the use of realistic communicative tasks such as discussions and role-plays. Transfer activities are also provided to enable students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to their own specific experience in the work environment. Language and communication skills checklists at the end of each unit will provide a useful quick reference source that students will find invaluable when in their place of work.

Please contact us for further details and to register your interest.  The courses always start from the first Tuesday of the month.  A class will be scheduled to run when 6 or more students have registered their interest.  The 48 hour course consists of 4 hours of teaching each week for 12 weeks (2 hours on a Tuesday night and 2 hours on a Thursday night), and costs RM630 (payable in 3 monthly installments).  The 24 hour course is delivered by either 2 hours a week on either a Tuesday or Thursday night over 12 weeks, or for 4 hours a week over 6 weeks (2 hours on both a Tuesday and a Thursday) and costs RM350.

Business English (Writing focus)

The course covers the three areas of: Forms of Writing, Functions used in writing, and Grammar; each lesson will be a combination of these areas.  As with the Business English (Communication) course, the Business English (Writing focus) course is modular to allow each group of students to select the topics they would most benefit from.  Some or all of the following forms of writing will be included: letters, faxes, memos, emails, minutes, reports, notices, instructions, brochures / leaflets, and newspaper articles.  As with the Business English (Speaking focus) course, we have found in the past that some companies choose to send their staff along to this course to develop their general Business English writing skills, rather than having a course customised to the exact requirement of their daily operations.

The Business English (Writing focus) course is delivered over 24 hours, which is 3 hours a week for 8 weeks on a Monday evening.  The courses always start from the first Monday of a month.  The cost of the course is RM350.

The Art of Public Speaking (English)

We offer a 28 hour course in public speaking, for students who are already at an advanced level of competency in the English language (DLC levels 6 or 7).  The course covers all you need to excel in public speaking: how to analyse your audience, speak to persuade, entertain, and/or inform, how to begin and end, how to use visual aids, how best to organize your speech and the body language you should use.  You will learn, in part, by practice and will receive specific feedback from our teachers.

The course can be delivered within a company setting for a group of staff (we can be flexible about delivery in this case, delivering it over a number of days or weeks according to your convenience), or on our premises for the general public (2 hours a week on an evening for 14 weeks).  Please contact us for further details.

Japanese - Basic communication with a business emphasis

This 28 hour course has been developed for newcomers to the Japanese language and takes place over seven weeks with 4 hours of class contact time per week, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7.30 until 9.30 pm, at a cost of RM350.  Alternatively, we may be able to deliver the course at your premises on request.  Please enquire for further details.

By the end of the 28 hour course, students are able to understand the Japanese Alphabet (Hiragana), handle introductions, request and offer assistance/help, make reference to the workplace, ask and give directions and simple instructions, use numbers, currency and time, understand and use statements and questions related to persuasion, information and humor applicable to business negotiation, and they will have participated in conversational exercises through role playing in given business contexts.
